Barely a month celebrating the abolishment of toll collection along NPE PJS2, it was reported just moments ago that toll price for 5 tolls would be increased, and one of the toll affected would be the NPE which I frequently use in the morning.
KUALA LUMPUR: Road users will have to pay higher tolls for five major highways beginning March 1.
The highways affected are the North-South Expressway (PLUS), Sprint/Kerinchi/Damansara Link highways, Ampang-Kuala Lumpur Expressway (AKLEH), Sungai Besi Highway and the New Pantai Expressway (NPE).

The Sungai Besi Highway will see an increase of 10sen, while the AKLEH and NPE will be increased by 50sen and 40sen respectively.

But it doesn't mean that I have no choice but to pay NPE RM2 per trip, instead I will now use LDP only. I hope the Government realize that such move will encourage more people to use LDP to reach Subang area and will bring the already congested highway (Class E highway for critical - overcapacity) to a standstill.
For those who still want to use NPE, there is one bypass you can use, going into Kampung Medan
This is the normal route where you pay RM1.60 (soon RM2.00)

What happened to the billions promised to be utilize to improve public transportation when fuel price were increased 70% overnight? All I can see is that public transportation is worst than before.
