Usually when I go to college around 10-11am, there won't be anymore parking near college and Medan so I thought I should just park near the used car shop. I parked my car INSIDE the yellow line, off the road, on the grass.
I even told Philip to make sure it is INSIDE the yellow line. I'm not even parking my car ON the road, yet when I went back to my car with Philip and Mugen after the class, the car was missing! The first thing that came into my mind was "Damn, don't tell me it's stolen, I just pumped the car with half tank of V-Power Racing (using the petrol card that I got)".
So I went to ask the nearby used car dealer if they had seen my car. They told me that the car was towed away to MPSJ office at USJ. I called Jack's uncle, who knows how to deal with these type of things. He told me to go to MPSJ office but he didn't know where.
Then I called my dad and he told me to get the car back from the office. Check the car to make sure that there were no dents around. So I took a taxi and went to MPSJ office. It was already 5pm, they would close anytime soon.
Then those stupid staffs there were taking their own damn sweet time. They had no customer to serve, they just chit-chit-chat-chat before calling my number. When I went there, I gave them my car number and they heard it wrongly, then they said the car was not in their system. I was scared that it was actualy stolen. Then they told me that the car could be at their depot somewhere else.

So they called the other depot and told me that my car was indeed there. So without wasting any time, the 3 of us ran out to get a taxi. To make things worse, I almost fell down from the stairs. Getting a taxi from Sunway University College was not a problem, but getting a taxi from MPSJ was the problem. They gave us a map to the car depot. To complicate things, the MPSJ is located on a corner of an intersection. Because of that, there could be two ways, either going North or East. I decided to walk because it was already 5.30. After walking around 100m, we realized that we could be going to the wrong direction.
Just as we decided to try going North, a taxi came, a life saver. I thought he was going to ask for another RM10 instead of using the meter, but nope, he did use the meter. However he did not know the road there, so we depended on the map hoping that it would be accurate.
Thank god we didnt't walk because seeing from the map it was damn near, but it's like around 3-4km away.
When we reached there, I paid RM5 and we went inside the car depot and I saw my car there.
I told the counter I want to claim my car and she told me to pay a freaking RM134.00 ! I was like wtf, first of all, why did you tow my car away?

I tried to appeal for the fine to be reduced but she said she already reduced the MPSJ compound from RM80 to RM40, the rest are storage charges and money paid to the tow truck operator. So this must be how they survive, simply towing cars, even those that are not obstructing the traffic.
Since there are nothing else that I could do, I just made the payment and went off. But as I was about to leave, there's this guy who was pleading me to lend him some money to he could make his payment and have his car back. I did not want to lend him but because I pitied him, I lent him RM40, but to make sure that he won't run away, I took his IC and we promised to meet later at night to exchange back the IC for the money.
Then later, I met up with him to exchange back the IC for money.
Then after asking around, parking no matter, INSIDE or OUTSIDE the yellow line is illegal. Alright, it's my fault, fine me if you want. But even if it's illegal. I was not obstructing the road, why should the MPSJ tow the car away? The answer is simple, because when I pay the fine, a part of it goes to these tow truck operators.
Total cost to retrieve my car back
Taxi fare to MPSJ office - RM10
Compound fee - RM40
Towing Fee - RM80
Storage fee - RM10
Detention fee - RM4
Taxi fare to MPSJ depot - RM5
Total - RM149
Conclusion, they just need the slightest reason to tow your car away. And for that, DAMN you MPSJ!

lol, my fren's car also towed by DBKL last saturday. the same case like you! when we noticed the car was not there, totally stunt! but luckily managed to find back the car at DBKL towing depot at Kepong. but end up, he paid about rm205 to get his car out from that fu**ing place.

hei dude, better dun simply hold 1 person's IC, driving license or whatsoever card other than IC can be hold. if he tells police that u hold his IC, you will be having big trouble, even though you said u lend him rm40, but there's no black and white. you will never know what is the intention of tat fellow borrowed money from you n gave you his IC as an exchange to get the money back from him.

I just kena the same thing today. Bloody bastards can't just issue a damn saman even though my car wasn't blocking anyone.

I screamed at the people at the counter asking who towed my car and this arrogant mat proudly said he was the one.

I asked him "Don't you have a fu**ing saman book? Do you randomly tow cars all the time?" and he replied "I towed 30 today. You want to see the list?".

I think there's something wrong with my suspension now.
