Over the past 2 years, I have been collecting PC parts from people who buy new PC or no longer want their PC. I didn't have much time to test them to determine if they are still working or not. Over the years, the amount of PC and parts just kept accumulating that I actually had to put the PCs and the parts in the toilet. The toilet is not being used btw.
Last year I had SPM, so I was never free. This year I had CAT exams, and I was busier than ever. After the exams, I still had much to do and I finally found time to fix up the PC and throw everything that could not be used - once and for all, and that is on the last day of 2008.
I did not want to do it alone, so I called my geek friend - Mun Yew to come over and see how many PC we could build alltogether.
First of all, put all the PC together before we begin work.
There' 7 PC in the pool, trying to fix as many as possible.
Mun Yew testing the motherboards and processors the geek way, by jumping the header pins to turn on the board.
Before long, we managed to get the first PC up and running. Begin by performing memtest to test the RAM.
After few hours, more and more spoilt parts could be identified and those not working were put aside.
This is the amount of scrap that was cleared from my house at the end of the day. Few motherboards, few processors, few power supplies, and the list goes on...
While checking the parts, I come across the PC given by Su Yiean, and Mun Yew and I were puzzling on how one could have 4 fins on the processor fans broken as if it were eaten by some rodents.
Maybe she eats the fins for supper, no wonder her CPU overheated. Not to mention the processor is based on the infamous Prescott core which has overheating problems.
In the end of the day, I managed to build one P4 based PC to be used as HTPC, and so does Mun Yew and another Pentium 3 PC.
As everyone were celebrating 2009, there I was, putting up the final touches to my HTPC

The quality broadcasted over Digital Video Brodcasting - Terrestrial is comparable to DVD quality. In the pic (Terminator 3), I tuned into RTM fully dedicated digital channel - RTMi
I managed to tune into DVB-T using a digital tv tuner - Compro U2800F - review up soon.
