As per my previous posts :-
I mentioned that the business plan competition organizer - Asia YEA organized a business plan competition yesterday to brief the participants from the 15 teams who are shortlisted to the second round of the competition on how to write our business plans.
The location of the workshop was at Menara Star. Chi Wynn and I had no idea how to go there, so we relied on the printed Google Maps and amazingly the maps guided us there on our first try.
We were anticipating a heavy jam so we left slightly earlier, but still ended up reaching there 45mins before the worskhop began.
The Star building
We walked into the building and asked the security guard where the cybertorium is, and I got a shocking rude reply from the bunch of security guards who was there chatting. He replied in an unpolite manner two of us were put into an interrogation style of questioning. I can't remember the exact words they said but its something like this :-
(one thing for sure, it's really unpolite and rude.)
The lobby area
"Why are you here?" instead of "How can I help you"
"Today where got event?", "No event here!" "Cybertorium is closed, we won't let you in" (For a moment, I thought it would be the most embarassing day of this year to attend an event on the wrong date or perhaps wrong place)
Then I told him we were there for a business plan writing workshop organized by HSBC Bank, and he replied:-
"No, we didn't receive any letter. Tell me who ask you to come?! (asked few times in an intimidating manner).
I was reaching my boiling point as they were being more and more rude and I had to say "Relax! I'll call them and get back to you"
I tried to search for WiFi access using my phone so I can read the email again and I found a public WiFi which belonged to The Star. I accessed it and the homepage was redirected to a login page in which I was told I could obtain a free one day WiFi access by obtaining the key at the lobby area.
Again, I went back to the guard asking them about that. And again they replied in an unpolite manner but in the end Chi Wynn managed to access his email inbox via 3G.
And it seems like there's just some communication problem in which the guards were not notified on an event going on in the cybertorium, but still the way the guards replied really angered me.
Then we walked up to the Cybertorium, and hanged out outside as the organizers were preparing for registration.
Some of the participants hanging out while waiting for registration
And then we moved into the Cybertorium, very well furnished. How I wish my lecture theatres are something like this.
And before anyone else came in
Before long, the speaker Mr Philip Tan began the funny yet informative workshop.
We managed to keep ourselves awake before the tea break, but upon returning from the tea break the cybertorium was already very cold and I fell asleep few times during the workshop.
When the workshop ended, a journalists asked Chi Wynn and I some questions (probably featured on Star Education this Sunday) and we could hardly speak, not because we were nervous but we were freezing and every single word uttered was very torturing.
Even after we walk out, holding a cup with a hot tea felt like nothing.
After the lunch, Chi Wynn had to go back to his college and since I had no where to go, I 'sneaked' into his library and studied there. But before that, we paid a very exorbitant price for the parking, RM15 for half a day! But what do you expect when you go to Phileo Damansara area.

I was curious for that too but I kepp quite when I see his name follow by long long wordSSSSSSS. Besides, there is other way to ask wat... It sound so rude by saying that after sitting there for few hours....
Don't u feel our competitors r "over confident in themselves"? They was like they had win it and going HK when they keep asking for the exact date! Another thing is I was almost faint when I c ppl wearing short to attend that workshop!
Really O M G
