After weeks of scouting for the parts all over KL, finally I got the list of things to get for my upcoming rig.
Intel Core 2 Duo E8400
Gigabyte EP35 DS3
Kingston DDR2 800 1GB x 2
Gainward Geforce 9600GT 1GB GDDR3 Extreme OC Ordered - delivered
Silverstone ST56F
Cooler Master CM590 - bought
ALL BOUGHT
Today, I went to Imbi Plaza to one of the shops, Robyncom where I manage to get a nice deal for my casing, Cooler Master CM590. Bought three, one for myself, two more for two other friends.
So, 2 items down, 4 more to go and a new PC is borned Laughing

So finally I have time to blog about the new PC, have been busy installing games and trying them out on the PC. But it was a little dissapointing that the shop worker fixed the HDD LED and Power LED wrongly so there wasn't any light, so I had to open the PC and fix the cable properly. They also forgot to give me back my E-Sata bracket, but they were kind enough to send it to me via courier service.
So here are some pictures of the PC.

One good thing about the casing (Cooler Master Centurion 530) is that the Power Supply is placed on the bottom (BTX style), which is a plus point for Silverstone ST56F since it is a very heavy power supply unit. The cables are very long as well, up to 550cm which has its pros and cons, the pros is that I could channel the CPU power supply cable through the back of the motherboard so there would be less obstructions to the airflow.
Everything was as planned
Intel E8400 - Just incase you are wondering why I did not bother to get Quad core processors as some people claim that they are 'faster'. Let me give an explanation, it's because having more processors doesn't mean all of them are being used at the same time, most of the softwares are not multi-threaded so they still utilize one processor at the same time, so it doesn't improve gaming performance. Furthermore, E8400 has a clock rate of 3.0Ghz and this 'Wolfdale' processor can easily be overclocked to 4.0Ghz. Besides that, the similarly priced quadcore of Q6600 is produced on 65nm technology compared to this E8400 which is based on 45nm technology, so more power savings.
Gigabyte EP35 DS3 - One of the best middle range motherboard out there, the new E series features Dynamic Energy Saver technolgy which Gigabyte claims is much better than Asus EPU
Team Elite dual channel RAM kit DDR2 800 2GB - It has heat spreader, reasonably priced, and overclockable
Gainward Nvidia 9600GT Golden Sample- This card just rocks, Gainward (Palit) has modified the NVidia reference card and included a HDMI, Display Port and Digital audio input ! It also features a dual slot cooler which incorporates a massive heatsink, fan and copper heatpipe.

The side panel features a transparent window with a 12cm fan to channel the heat directly from the graphics card which further improves the cooling of the card. My card remains below 50 degree Celcius even under 10 hours of gaming.
New PC
Windows Vista Experience of 5.6
Old PC
This is the internal of my humble old PC, which has served me well for years without any problem :D
