At this moment, I'm supposed to be at Terengganu, Lake Kenyir Resort, enjoying my paid vacation as a crew of an outdoor adventure race.
On Friday, a day before the race, I have prepared everything, and barely 12 hours before the event, I received an SMS from the organizer.
- "Team, sorry to inform u all tht we gotto CALL OFF d outdoor adventure race tis weekend due to matters arised. U can have d crew tshirt n d mgt wld like to thnk u for team effort during d preparation period. V look forward to hv all of u again in our future event. ".
I was so disappointed, I was really looking forward towards this event. Apparently the race was called off due to H1N1.
Since the whole thing is called off, I won't be getting any salary, yet I have already worked for them few days prior to the event, helping to pack the goodie bags, ain't I entitled to salary on a quantum meruit basis?
It's very disappointing.
