It seems like HTC has received ODM (Original Design Manufacturer) orders from Sony Ericsson. That means that SE would be making phones based on the hardware reference from HTC. And best of all, it would be runnign Windows Mobile! That means we could be expecting a PDA with 5 megapixels CyberShot lens and Xenon flash
The first model, most probably running Windows Mobile 6 would be ready by next year. Now, I might want to consider some SE phones running WM6 instead of HTC TyTn II. After this rumour speculated, HTC share rose by 4%
On a separate note, there is a new telco in Malaysia. Called U-mobile , they would be running on 3G only and not any GSM networks which means that you can only use a 3G phone because it supports CDMA network. Hopefully, with the entrace of this telco into the market, there will be a stiffer competition among the telcos. Not to mention that DiGi might be acquiring Time.net.my and its 3G spectrum as well so that Telenor can reduce its share to 49%
On the other hand, you might have heard of this long ago. MNP (Mobile Number Portability) was supposed to be launched by this year, but it is now postponed ot next year. With MNP, we can retain our number while we change network. So we will definitely get cheaper rates next year as we are not bonded to any telcos anymore.
Seems like Google can't sit down and watch as Microsoft and Apple are doing well in the mobile market with Windows Mobile and Iphone, so they are really serious about Gphone aka Google Phone. It was a rumour months ago, but now. There are rumours that even Google are considering ODM orders from HTC. Gphone running Windows Mobile? It doesn't matter. I am pretty sure that they will have YouTube player, Gmail application, and all others G stuff included
