Well , this seriously reminds me of a game which I’ve just recently played - Fallout 3. Well , for those of you who don’t know really know about the whole Fallout series , its basically about how things are after a nuclear war. Thats not important , what is important is how things do look like after post-apocalyptic. Well , you should seriously take a look at screenshots and the game itself. Anyway here are some clips that I’ve managed to get from YouTube. Its worth to see how the whole scenario looks like , the game play and just imagine..HOW you would be like and how things would be around you
Okay , lets get back to what I was talking about. Basically , I just want to say that war doesn’t determine who is right - only who is left. That is all that maters , you may be the wrong but the other guy could be right - but you’re just risking life of innocent parties both sides. Can’t we just end it peacefully. If not , I can’t just imagine what will happen - imagine a nuclear war. What will happen to us , even if we survive. The faith of us (when I say us - all of us , human beings regardless of your skin colour , gender , religion , your political view and stuff. Do you think we can lead a life after that ? After playing that game , I found out that , its not all about winning and seriously I do salute the veterans who have fought in battles. I do think that they know the true pain and suffering of war. I would recommend you to listen to this song , yeah its from Fallout 3. I just want you to get the meaning of it , just truly understand what the message is all about. It conveys a strong message
As for my conclusion of today’s entry , well I don’t care who is right or who is wrong . It may start off with 2 countries , but then it would roll up as big as a snowball , which would involve many other nations and sooner or later our we’re pretty much in it as well. You may say that we are safe , but just try to ponder a bit. Is this what we want ? Is this the way you want our grandchildrens to see the world - full of radioactive waste materials , distructions and mutated creatures (including humans). I would seriously value your feedback on what you think about the current issues and your thoughts on war in general !
Oh well , let me read your mind. Let me guess , you would say - Oh god , here we go again. Another guy trying to promote how he made $500USD in one day by reading some unknown ebook and which then would force you to pay to get the rest of the content. Now , I wouldn’t want to go into detail , as we all do know how those sites scam and don’t really tell you how they actually made it
I do promise myself to share how I am going to earn and post updates from time to time on this issue. Keep in mind , this isn’t my primary focus. Think of it as a side dish , my primary focus would sbe still on Malaysian issue and not to forget about my passion on computers !
This is shocking news for me. 3 days ago , I received a letter whom is very nice an decided to share some of the throttling facts on how TM enforces these on our connection and what are the impact of it. Some of us do know that TM is throttling. But I’ve managed to get a glimpse on what they are throttling.
Well , if you haven’t read my part 1. You should read that first , anyway let me continue. Most of us are stuck in a dilemma when choosing a netbook , as there are many flavours to it . Now let me break it down for you and lets do compare it right from a-z , right from Processor , HDD , RAMs and things like that. Don’t worry , I’ll be putting it in plain English (Hopefully its understandable) .
Well as we all do know that Linux works well with PS2. All you need is a network adapter and a hard disc and fork out $50 USD for Sony Linux Kit. Well the issue is that I want to get those stuffs here in Malaysia and unfortunately , nobody is selling those stuff here , even the network adapter for Playstation 2. After years of finding one , I’ve finally given up on running linux on the PS2.
Yesterday , while I was watching YouTube videos on playstation 2 hacks and stuff. I stumbled across a video whereby a guy managed to get his PS2 Slim to boot the linux loader via the USB. Now that’s something amazing. Well if you feel geeky and want to give it a go , I recommend you to check out this link
PS2 Linux - with External USB Drive
For now , here is a picture. Currently , it does load linux and startx (but I can’t do anything , it doesn’t want to regonise the keyboard/mouse. So What i am doing is that I am trying to figure it out a way to get X fully working. If that works , I’ll have a GUI and then I can slowly start to use it as my backup PC). Well I plan to use this to do folding@home tasks and other stuff. I’ll keep you posted. For now here is a picture , if I acan get it to run properly , i’ll try my best to write a tutorial. Writing a tutorial for these kind of stuff is tedious ,especially when configuration varies form one person and other. Now I’ve my hopes and hopefully I can get the GUI and everything else to work properly. Once that is done , finally my PS2 is a computer
Now who says we need PS3 or new gaming console. I believe that we can actually get old things running to serve us well !
Wishing everyone (my readers) a New Year. I ho hope that 2009 is the year for you all. I am quite busy recently and I’ll se what updates that I can post from time to time !
This is my second segment/part of the review. In this segment , I would be focusing on Internet Applications. That means how sites such as YouTube , Forums , Blogs and things like that would load. In other words , how good P1 in terms of productivity web applications and Internet entertainment.
As I’ve mentioned earlier I’ll be splitting this mega review into segments and parts. If you have missed the first segment/part , click here (Part 1 of the review) to read about it. I’ll be then creating an index (once the whole review is done) so that it would be easier for people to refer and jump into the section that they prefer. Do keep in mind that this is going to be a very long post as I’ll be basically talking and comparing stuff. Its not for the faint of heart !
Anyway , as most of you do know. I do have tons of friends and the other day HeHeHunter (People do know him as the guy who translated Xunlei to English and stripped the ads and made it spyware free) , was ranting about how people stripped his work and then just directly hotlink (It means that directly linking images from one’s site without permission , which is bad as it drains your bandwidth and you take no credit for it) . He did ask me for help and we thought why don’t we together and work on a script which allows webmasters to protect their files and Images. This is a great way to conserve bandwidth.
Oh No ! - This what happens when someone hotlinks
Oh yeah to demonstrate this purpose , here is an original article found over at HeHeHunter’s blog . Now try to visit here (i’ve hotlinked the image directly from this site). If you still see the image hit Control + F5 or just hit refresh. Now you should see the effect of it. Anyway this is the script. Oh you should check out HeHeHunter’s blog as well. He has the whole story there and how he thought a person who hotlinked his images a lesson !
To prevent people from stealing your images and linking directly (and as well as your files) , you’ll have to edit your .htaaccess. Edit your .htacesss , usaully its hidden but you can browse it if you’re using a 3rd party FTP Client that allows you edit it
You may want to read his entry on this and his opinon as well . Seriously , when two minds are put together to work on any project , the result is well this. No wonder processors these days comes with 2 cores and more .
Ta Da - As I’ve promised you guys , I went to P1 Office Today @ Jln Templer (Oh yeah my dad drove me there as I don’t know the roads in PJ , plus it can be confusing at times) , I was greeted by Miss Naomi . She explained the whole free 6 months concept and stuff and the sign up was pretty fast and easy.
You’ll have to hit Read More as it contains lots of pictures and words. So if you’re intrested to learn more on P1 WiMax service , I recommend you to read more.
Basically to sum it up. I’ll be reviewing by “parts/segments”. Each segment focuses on certain aspect of the service. For instance , the first segment/part is all about setting it up and so on. This way it would be easier for someone to read and understand how the service works. Here is my layout currently. I plan to do a couple of parts and as we do get any updates. I’ll be post them here
Its been a while since I’ve talked on Tomato. Anyway , Victek is hanging out over at Lowyat message board. That seems to great , he gives us the updates whenever they are released and he does hangout there to help us sometimes. Its so great of you Victek.
Anyway , this is what has been updated in the last version
* Fixed remote logging didn’t work if ‘log internally’ was disabled.
* Updated - Dnsmasq 2.46, Dropbear 0.52 & Busybox 1.12.3.
* DDNS now works even if WAN is disabled as long as DDNS uses an external checker or a pre-defined IP (Basic:DDNS:IP Address).
* TCP Vegas (TCP congestion control) added (enable in QOS:Settings), thanks to Rodney H.
* SYN cookies setting in Advanced:Firewall.
* Status:Device List now shows OUI, Static IP, Add Wireless Filter links in a separate line.
* Removed ebtables patch which appears to have caused various problems.
* Create Backup setting & Backup Link URL in Admin:Bandwidth.
Pretty much some great stuff. Just posting the updates ! Thats about it. Later I might share a couple of tips and tricks on how to protect your WiFi and such !
