Parking Perfection Print E-mail

On Wednesday, I went to Mr Eng's tuition, I drove there and Ming Hui was sitting beside me, then I saw Jason car parked at my usual parking spot. Well, it doesn't matter, I just parked in front of him. I already know what to do. I parked normally and then continued with tuition for the next 2 hours 30 minutes.

Now, the best part. After tuition was over, I told Ming Hui to get in the car fast, cause I'm going to do something. We got to the car, then I released my handbrake while looking at all my 3 rear mirrors. I moved my car backwards, as close as possible to his car. I thought it was not enough, so I told Ming Hui to get off the car, ask him to see for me and signal me when the distance is just close enough. So we did it, and we waited for Jason and Jamie who was still chatting with Leka.

When we saw them coming, we were already laughing. Then I heard Jamie saying "How he parked his car so close?" or something like that.

Then she took 2 snapshots.

Frankly speaking, I did not know it was that close till I saw the picture at Jamie's Blog . Kudos to Ming Hui, he did a great job in telling me just when to stop Tongue out.
Then I pretended that I was on the phone and ignored him, he beamed his highlight but because the car was parked so close, there wasn't any effect. I was not blinded by the beam. So he could do nothing but just wait. dThen he must be thinking "Argh, forget it, if he doesn't move, I will reverse and move"

And so he did it. Well, as he was reversing, I moved my car, and started hogging that stretch of road, it was damn funny. Jason just followed me as I drove like a snail. Then I can see from my rear mirror, that Jamie was so excited that she kept on pressing the honk. Then, at the junction, we went separate ways.

Adverlets - Online advertising redefined ! Print E-mail

Nowadays, if you are a webmaster or blogger, you have many ways of making money from your website/blog. You can sell your products/services online or you can even make money from advertising. In this blog, you can see that I have included some advertisements such as those from Google Adsense , Advertlets and Nuffnang. Of all the 3, I would say that I like Advertlets the most.

After using Google Adsense for over a year, and getting around 40,000++ page impressions on my previous website, I only earned a mere 20 USD, those visitors did not click on the ads and hence I did not get paid. Certainly, I couldn't encourage them to click on the Ads because it is against their Program Policies. So there is nothing much I can do. However, with Advertlets, it is different.

With Adverlets, you get paid doing what you like to do, blogging. Best of all, you get paid even if your visitors did not click on the advertisement, as long as they see the ads, you get paid. Now, isn't that great?

My blog receives around 100-200 visitors daily, with that amount, I could earn an average of RM0.50 per day, at times it is around RM1. Surely that's little, but I did not even do anything, I just did what I like to do, blogging.

Right now, I have RM15 in my account after putting up Advertlets Ads for 20+ days, but from thousands of page impressions, I only got like 8 clicks and that amounted to RM0.40 only! If they did not pay for page impression, I guess I have earned RM0.40 only. Even if I am earning at that rate, after a year, I could earn around RM180 easily. With that amount, I am going to pay for premium webhosting with domain for at least 2 years. Then within that 2 years, I believe I can earn enough money to pay for the hosting 2 years later through Adverlets. With Advertlets, it's not hard to imagine. I wanted to put Advertlets on my blog months ago but I could not do so because my blog was blocked by Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) just because someone else on another domain posted some illegal content. Since that incident, I told myself, I need a paid webhosting that is reliable. After using Adverlets for just few days, I knew that it is possible.
Another good thing about Advertlets is the ads that they deliver, not only they are colourful and attractive. They carry ads which my visitors would be interested at. For instance, the recent Merdeka ads, definitely my visitors would be interested in the ads as most of them are Malaysian too. As for those who are not from Malaysia, they get to know more about Merdeka by clicking on that ad. It is like a value added service on my blog by providing my visitors with interesting websites to read on.

The best part is, they are based in Malaysia, hence you get paid in RM and you can easily contact them to enquire about anything. Furthermore, their ads are targeted towards your reader, like the recent Merdeka ads, surely that will attract people to click on it and view the content. It is like a value added service on your blog to link them to interesting websites. Not only that, they often give you chances to earn extra money apart from advertising. For instance, just by writing on Advertlets in this post, I stand a chance to win RM20, it isn't really for the money, I would have introduced this amazing program to you sooner or later.
In the end, it is the smile which is carved on your face when you receive that cheque from Adverlets that pays. Just look at the picture and see their reactions.
Money + Happy

As the conclusion, I would like to say that Advertlets is a win-win program. Advertisers get their messaged delivered, and bloggers get paid by doing things they like, love and always do - blogging. Give it a try today, there is nothing to regret about. You can be as happy as those bloggers above. What are you waiting for? Sign up for Adverlets now !

Remembering September 11 Print E-mail

It has been 6 years since terrorists brought down the World Trade Centre. I still remembered that day, I was with my uncle at Cherating beach. Then out of sudden, my aunt, whose friend was working inside RTM, got the breaking news and told her about it. I was 11 years old then, when I heard twin towers, I thought it was our Petronas Twin Towers, then my uncle said it was the one in United States. Then we heard that one tower was down, and later, we found out both the tower went down. We waited till midnight, and then I saw the video, I was extremely sad over it, seeing people trapped inside the building and finally decided to end their suffering by jumping down. The temperature at the roof of the tower was around 300 degrees Celcius. The rescue helicopters could only watch helplessly.
Days later, my mother told me that people at Afganistan were cheering and laughing. Then I watched a video on news, someone was making a speech in Arabic, someone who claimed responsibility for the attack, he is Osama Bin Laden. And from that moment, I knew that the United States is going to send their stealth bombers to Afganistan. And surely it did happen.
I also found out that out of the 4 planes hijacked, 2 crashed it into the World Trade Centre, one crashed into Pentagon but the last one crashed on Pennsylvania - it was the flight that fought back. I salute all the passengers and crews of that flight who had sacrificed to prevent the nation from any further damage.
Here is a video, short tribute to victims and family members of the victims of September 11 tragedy. 8.46a.m. US time, on the 11th of September will forever be in our memories.

Upgrading Xphone II from WM5 to WM6 Print E-mail

I spent this weekend doing nothing much except for developing some Windows Mobile applications and to flash WM6 into Mun Yew's Xphone II, see the screenshots for comparison between WM2003, WM5 and WM6
WM2003 WM5 WM6
The most left is the phone running WM2003, followed by WM5 and lastly WM6. Definitely some huge improvements, if you are wondering how you can flash your phone to do the same, click on the Tutorial button on the left panel.
It's a sad thing that the manufacturers do not care much about after sales service. When asked if they will release an update for our phones, they will usually give the reason that they will not because our phone is not capable of running it. Yet we have to depend on ROM cookers from XDA-developers to cook the ROM, and when we did it, Microsoft sent a legal letter asking us to stop doing it and remove our entire ROM archive because of some license issue. Yea right, they are afraid people will not buy their new devices because upgrades are available for their old devices.
But no matter what, Windows Mobile device is surely a killer device.
