Speed kills - no matter how new your car is Print E-mail

This is a true story. Few months back on 11th of April, a dude from My350z Forum got excited with his new Nissan 350Z that he posted a new topic to let people know, he posted up pictures of his car with the number plate.

350z-2
Hours later in his brand new car . . .
350z-3
Yes, he crashed his 350z. Apparently he was racing with a BMW, down a 30mph road. And now he is in critical condition. Apparently his girlfriend was with him but she escaped with minor injuries.
Now the entire 350z community know about this dude. At this moment, he is in hospital. The driver has since been in coma till today.

PDA as HUD Print E-mail

HUD stands for Heads up display. It is already a common feature in fighter jets. Fighter jet pilots can see visual information through the glass while flying the jet. It is oftenly used in targeting enemies' jet and to lock the target. BMW is among the first few manufactueres which implemented HUD in it's BMW 5 Series. With it, you can see your speed info without lifting your sight from the road.
But what if you don't have RM500,000 for such a car? Well, there's a cheaper option for less than RM3000. Recently, a tech-savvy doctor had figured out a way to use the GPS navigator in his Dopod 838 pro PDA for navigation.
This is how it works, basically, when an image is reflected through a glass, it is laterally inverted, so you use a software, in this case, he used a software - GPS Speed Sentry to 'mirror' the image first, then once it get reflected by the glass, you get a map on your GPS. So, this is what you get, although it's abit blurry. Hopefully someone can manufacturer an attachment to project PDA image as HUD.

10,000th visits Print E-mail

After few months of running my blog, I finally got my 10,000th visitors. Sad to say, most of my visitors are those who came to read my tutorials on how to upgrade HTC Tornado/Typhoon/Feeler/Amadeus to Windows Mobile 6. I'm rather surprised that I have more European (United States) visitors than Malaysia. Come on Malaysians !!
Anyway, my free server hosting is almost reaching the peak, look at the bandwidth usage.
Site traffic
On a separate note, I came across this website. See snapshot for yourself.
Breast enlargement
Do you believe it? No need for implants, creams, herbs, etc. Just listen to it everyday. However, it is reported that the mp3 file is just a gimmick for people to download the file. You can download it and see for yourself. True or not? Find out for youself.
Get it here - BreastEnlargement.mp3
Disclaimer - I am not responsible if the mp3 does not work as expected, or perhaps giving negative results (shrinked breast, etc) Tongue out
To commenrate my 10,000th visits, I present you -

New PC in the house Print E-mail

So I helped my brother's friend to buy a new PC and fixed it up, his friend's old pc seems to have its motherboard and power supply fried. It's a Pentium 4 PC, so it would be enough for normal usage. So I'll try to get those spare parts from Mun Yew. If it can be fixed, well, that means i'll have 4 PC's, now you know why my parents are making noise over the electric bill Tongue out. So what would I do with that PC?
Well, I have few choices. I can follow prasys aka OSX86 & Apple fanboy advise to install a server, or perhaps run a private server for any MMORPG, etc. But then, I think I got a better plan.
I have decided, it's gonna be a Media Centre PC! . If everything works as planned, i'll buy a TV Tuner, a graphics card, wireless keyboard and mouse and Media Centre Edition remote control.
So this is how it will work. I will connect the PC output via S-Video cable to the TV. Then i'll attach a WiFi dongle to that PC. So after I finished downloading a movie from any one of my PCs, i'll just send it to the Media Centre via WiFi. Then watch it on the big sized TV. Or transfer the entire MP3s to that PC and listen to it without the need of burning any discs. One good thing of having a media centre is the ability to watch movies encoded with different codecs. It's not really practical to buy a new DVD player which support DivX codec just to watch burned DivX movie. So with this media centre, I can watch it even as it is being downloaded. Not to mention, I have other alternatives such as Internet TV's. Example, Joost TV , TVU Player. Forget about Astro Max or LG Live TV, with Media Centre PC, hell I can do live TV recording as well. Recorded into 320GB HDD if I want to I'm sure you don't have that much on AstroMax which costs approx. RM1000 and yet can only record 80GB/60 hours.
Pros - Live TV Recording, watch movies encoded with diff codecs, versatile, etc
Cons - It's big - but no problem, it can be solved if you buy a barebone PC, it's as small as two Oxford dictionaries put side by side and it is only around 50cm tall.
Stay tuned for updates.

I have to say that it's very impressive, but it gave me a shock the first time I watched it.

Neway, PMR is around the corner, I would like to wish all the PMR candidates all the best.
