I'm sure all of you have heard of what BitTorrent and Peer 2 Peer is all about. The technology is legal, but what you download most of the time isn't. Most of the time, we think we won't get detected or whatever. But recently, the copyright enforcers are doing more.
First of all, they are getting court orders to make sure all BitTorrent trackers track the IP and files downloads, that is an invasion of privacy? ! TorrentSpy is one of the first, read more about it hereThen, some local Jaring P2P users have been seeding some movies, and got detected by the enforcers, who got his IP address and sent an email to his ISP ( Jaring ) , click 'read more' to read the letter
So what if you want to download something with privacy? You got two options
1) Subscribe to Virtual Private Network (VPN) service, you can find many in Lowyat.net Forums, the VPN server acts as a proxy server where all your traffic are directed there and it is encrypted, but find a reliable one, they can read your traffic which is not encrypted, but at least the ISP can't
2) Subscribe to TorrentFlux . This is something better, most servers located in datacenters are able to connect to Internet at full 100mbps speed. So you upload your torrentfile to the server, let it download to the server at super high speed, then you download it to your PC using HTTP, HTTP is the protocol which is used to browse webpages. So your ISP can't throttle or block your downloads as it will affect normal Internet surfing experience.
Whatever is it, remmember, BitTorrent is LEGAL, what you download might not be ! So if you think you can get away with seeding illegal stuff, think again  Next news, ever heard of Windows Genuine Advantage? Well, probably you have heard, it is the software installed on your PC which verifies your operating system with the server each time you turn on your PC, it is supposed to give you 'advantage' but it seems to be a total 'disadvantage' when their server broke down causing millions of verified PC considered 'illegal' after their PC failed to be verified. Ridiculous ? Now Microsoft is planning to release Windows XP ( yes, its XP ) Service Pack 3, which some have said, did not have much difference except for one - Windows Genuine Advantage is included.
If you think you are stuck with Windows? There are other options, do consider Linux ! It's free, it's open source, and even the disc can be delivered to your house for free !

Just finished Chemistry today, left Moral paper to study for !
Today I had Chem paper, I was afraid as I did not study, I was just too exhausted yesterday, one moment, it was 11.30pm, had a short nap, the next thing when I opened my eyes, it was already 2pm, and yet I am tired, Just too tired considering how late I slept just to study the day before. I knew soap is going to come out, but I just don't have the time to study, that's the only part I believed I had screwed up.
Now, with 3 days left to Merdeka, I got 3 serious issues with TMNET.
1) Cannot check online bill
2) High ping with DNS server, yea, so called Malaysia Internet Exchange where it is claimed that we can get 4ms latency for local traffic

It has been one week since I blogged, and I have alot to tell.
First of all, I am having more site visitors from Europe instead of Malaysia or even Asia ! Probably it's because of the guide I made on upgrading a smartphone. Seems to get alot of hits
I hate procastinating, if only I had studied the last few chapters of Form 5 Biology, I could have answered some extra questions, but I didn't and I think I screwed up.
One week of holidays, and I really relaxed, even on Sunday itself, I was watching Formula 1 with Jun Fei, it was worth watching because Ferrari is back on the track, but overall, it isn't as interesting as the past few races, not many overtaking, except for Alonso who is fustrated being held up by the two BMW's

One week after the 'official' date for NS lucky selected candidate names were released, I check for my IC again and I can safely say that
I AM NOT CHOSEN, WHY AM I SO UNLUCKY ?!! (sarcasm mode activated)
I am so jealous of those who are chosen, it seems like they added around 10k places this year, and yet I am not chosen, I really envy those who got chosen  Anyway, to Jamie, Jason, Elaine, Gene Lih, Moon Ting, Sheng Hou, Denesh, Ken Boon, Chong Keat, Jia Joon and whosever name not mentioned here, hope you guys enjoy youselves over there.
As for today, I just got my HWM magazine for August 2007 but with all the exams recently, I didn't even have time to read July's edition. Time for Chemistry

Well, after few weeks of messing with Windows Mobile 6 on my Dopod 577w ( HTC Tornado Noble ), I finally got a new toy to play with, it is one of the legendary smartphone from O2 - the Xphone II. Mun Yew had this phone and he passed it to me to see if I can upgrade it to Windows Mobile 5 from Windows Mobile 2003. First thing I did was to take some photos.
