Sorry for the recent downtime, my free bandwidth have run out due to the overwhelming traffic to my website, it will be down again somewhere in the middle of this month as there would be a new update on my tutorials.
Anyway, I barely had a chance to update my blog and there comes Progress Test 2. But before I mention about PT2, I will talk about my SPCA trip first.
We were supposed to perform some social work to earn 50% for our Moral LAN paper, so we decided to go to SPCA. I contacted their Education Officer, Pris Hendricks and she was very friendly. When we reached there, I smelled a very strong chicken smell and I just couldn't take it..We started off by handling the sales, Stephanie was unlucky to find some shit on a doll, she was freaking out.
Then, we helped to feed the dogs and move the cages around. We seriously had alot of fun there.
Some pictures
The 4 bouncers handling the jumbo sales Philip with the cute dog The crowd at the sales with Jack, Nathan, Mugen, Siva Moving the dogs cage
All of us posing for picture after a tiring day (Clockwise from top - Mugen, Stephanie, Ruben, me, Nathan, Chuan Han, Siva, Jack, Philip, Wen Jing and Karen)
After that, we went to Times Square to watch Rambo since Jack got so gungho talking about it, the storyline sucks but the actions were impressive. Along the way to Time Square, we passed Pudu Jail and there was a protest there with people holding manilla cards saying 'Bebaskan Tahanan', there were police all ready. I just walked pass praying that the crowd would not go on riot suddenly or else there would be tear gas everywhere and who knows I would be dumped to the police truck first.
That's all for the day.
Next, is my Progress Test 2 which I just had today.
I didn't have much time to study considering the long hours that I spend in college everday. Paper 1 was easy but there was alot of calculation questions while Paper 2 was a little bit tougher, all those questions just got me confused. But it was alright, I should be able to pass it.
The test was held in the MPH, the tables were arranged so close to each other, the opportunities to copy was everywhere
I really need to thank Ms Yu for helping me in the very last minute before the test commences and that really helped me answer alot of questions.
After the exam, we (Mugen, Ruben, Jack and I) went to Sunway Pyramid to watch Grabielle. I wouldn't suggest you to watch that movie because you'll never see sunlight in the show, it just rain and rain and rain. No wonder there were only 6 people including us in the theatre.
That's all for now, Chinese New Year is approaching, all those NS 'wira' and 'wirawati' would be coming back soon and I just can't wait to listen to what they have to say.
Enjoy your holiday guys

I walked in into the examination hall full of confidence, walking out thinking that I would get at least more than 90 since the paper was easy. But I was half wrong. But I got less than my targeted marks. While it was an acceptable result, I was dissapointed with my paper 2 because I made mistakes that were so obvious. It was very careless. Also, I did walked out off the hall just 30 minutes after the clock was started. The duration of the test was 2 hours 15 mins. But seeing Jack and Nathan walking out the hall, I didn't want to sit inside there so I stopped checking and walked out. It's really something I regretted. Had I spent extra time going through the paper throrougly, it could be better.
After the test, I had like 2 hours to spend not knowing what to do so I went to the library and revised for my paper 2 but I could not study anything so I went to use the computer to surf the net. But even luck is not on my side there when the computer were having networking issues. I walked from computer to computer trying to see which one would work before finding one that actually worked.
Anyway Progress Test 2 is just next friday and i'm determined to do better this time.

A month ago, I modified my printer to include a CISS (Continuous Ink Supply System) so that I can print non stop without refilling.
Two days ago, my printer stopped working, the feeder would not load the paper in, it will just stuck halfway. I got so frustrated, the feeder kept rolling and rolling yet the paper would not come out. Thinking that the feeder motor has stuck. I got no choice but to send it back to Canon. Before I called Canon, I tried to feed the paper in again, this type forcing it in while the feeder is working. Eventually the paper went in, guess what came out with the paper?
The pieces of the dead dried crispy cockroach comes flying out because the feeer was spinning fast, I can't imagine how many thousands of times the feeder was rolling this poor creature. But damn it, because of it, I can't print for a week.

Yesterday, we had our Progress Test 1, the first internally accessed paper. I think I did quite well. We have so many exams coming soon, it's really stressful. But my resolution this year is to be at least a Malaysian Prize winner, if not a World Prize winner, I am very determind to achieve it. I hope my dream is realized.
Anyway, this is a snapshot of the test environment.
The past few days had been exciting, the lectures are geting more and more interesting, but at the same time, more challenging. I just love the challenge.
The class that we are in now is very very cold, like a freezer, and everyday, we have around 7-8 hours of lecturers, imagine putting yourself in an air-conditioned room for that long period. It makes you feel sleepy, and I have actually felt asleep during certain lectures, my friend took some shots of me sleeping while sitting, that's really embarassing. To keep myself warm, I have to wear sweater every single day and that makes me look the same every day as if it's my uniform. But it applies to all, everyone wears sweater/jacket or whatever they could to keep themselves warm.
Then we also had Moral studies, it's the only time we get to relax ourselves and enjoy some laughing moments. The lecturer will give us some complicated situation like "Your mother is sick and you have to rob the pharmacy to get the medicine, right or wrong?" and "You have limited supply of medicine to treat injured or dying soldiers". As part of the Moral Studies, we have to do some charity project just like what we have done in SPM, just that this time, it accounts for half of the marks for the subject. Hence, next Sunday, my group would be going to SPCA Ampang to spend some time with the dogs.
Today, we had a computer class and we are taught to use all the formulas in Microsoft Excel to do accounting, it was very exciting, though I already know half of what the lecturer said. It was getting boring so I had some chat with Jason via webmessenger while the lecture was going on in the computer lab.
I didn't know if the morning jam on Saturday would be as bad as any other day. So I took some chance and went a little late, around 7.10 a.m. The road was so so empty, I reached college in just 15 minutes, and it was too early. I saw Ruben and we went in to cafeteria and chatted on our previous school.
However, few days ago, I thought I made a wrong decision to take ACCA, because there are so many other accounting bodies which are deemed to be more prestigious such as ACA from ICAEW and CPA. Chiew Mun and I did some researches on the computer lab and was shock to find out that eventhough Sunway produce alot of world prize and malaysian prize winners, most of these winners actually take additional tuition in Kasturi School of Accountancy and McOrange. The fees there are cheaper but better. I was thinking, must I take extra tuition to be able to cope with the lecture for the professional papers in my final year. At last, we talked so some lecturer and glad that we are satisfied with the explanation given, that our path are not screwed up after all, that we did not take the wrong path.
ACCA, a very difficult paper? Bring it on...
